Use Holecards vs Use Range

In this article we will take a look at the difference between Use Holecards and Use Range for a given player. The example in this article can be downloaded and opened in PokerJuice.

As a default PokerJuice will use holecards for Hero and range for Villain when doing calculations.

This is how we do analysis most of the time. However, sometime we want to do more advanced range vs. range analysis. To do this we want to tell PokerJuice to forget about our actual hand and let us use a range instead.

Double-click toggles Use Holecards/Use Range

The simple and quick way to do this is simply by double-clicking Hero's holecards:

The holecards are now hidden and we have now switched to Use Range for Hero. We can verify this by right-clicking Hero:

If we double-click again we will toggle back to Use Holecards. Alternatively we can right-click Hero and select between Use Range and Use Holecards.

Setting Hero's range

If we now single-click Hero we can specify a range for Hero:

We are now in a position where we can do range vs. range analysis. Combined with RANGE DISTRIBUTION this can be very powerful.
